Danute Tayach (1980) was born in Latvia. Currently, she is living and working between France and Switzerland. During her school years, she excelled in art and won competitions, but it wasn’t enough for her to pursue this passion as a profession. Danute first returned to drawing and painting in 2019, but only in 2020 she fully realised that art was indeed her calling. She continues to learn and develop her drawing and painting techniques. Danute Tayach is mainly working with graphic art and illustrations, Her favourite medium is acrylic, Chinese ink and watercolours. She is still continuing to develop her talents at l’Ecole des Beaux Arts du Genevois (France).
Education:
My works are mix of expressive abstraction, primitive realism and bold, intuitive colours. I draw and paint my emotions, tending to lose any sense of time or space as I get drawn into my subconscious world. It is important for me to use bright colours as they reflect my perception of the world, accentuating details that may otherwise seem insignificant. My goal is to invite viewers into my world, in order to share the beauty of creation and the diversity of the world that we might otherwise miss in our busy daily lives.
Mission & VisionDo you know that every living creature has its abilities and when we meet them, they help us to look into ourselves, to understand and connect with ourselves? I have lived practically all my life next to nature and have always treated nature and all living creatures with the utmost respect. Living near nature develops intuition and the desire to understand the world around you and yourself. That is why I have created a series of paintings with birds and plants and called it “Symbols of the Earth”. Through these paintings, I want to show that we are all connected – people, animals, birds, plants, and insects. Sometimes it is enough to spend a little time in nature or to be in contact with one of these Earth symbols to regain inner balance, to heal ourselves or to acquire a certain quality that we need at that particular moment to achieve our goal. I create my works in the monotype technique using acrylic and acrylic ink. I like the surprise effect when working on each artwork because the prints create the most interesting combinations of shapes and colours that would be difficult to achieve traditionally. Both media help to create multi-layered, dynamic, colourful, positive, decorative works in which light, texture and movement can be sensed. I use bright colours in my works to emphasize what we don’t have time to notice in our busy everyday life. My artworks are my inspiration for the world how I see it and which I want to show to my viewers. Birds and plants come to me and ask to be painted. They are a mix of abstraction, modernity, primitive realism and bright colours. They radiate positive emotions and call to action – to create your own life and the world around you. My paintings are created for nature lovers, dynamic, active people living in the urban environment, people who dare and love life, who need a deeper inner self-understanding, who are clear about their chosen life goal, and who want to accentuate their interior with a beautiful and colourful, decorative accent.
